ABOUT US

The Beard Insurance Agency is a family-run business with 36 years of combined experience working in the state of Montana.  We’re proud of our Montana heritage, and the confidence of our clients that has resulted in the steady growth of our business.

Ken was born and raised on a small farm in Ballantine, Montana, just a few miles east of Billings.  He graduated from Huntley Project High School in 1966, and from there attended Northern Montana College in Havre and Montana State University in Bozeman.  He graduated in 1972 with a BS degree in Agricultural Business.  He worked for Production Credit Association in Billings (now known as Farm Credit Services) for 15 years as an agricultural loan officer.  Then, in 1987 he obtained a small insurance agency in Billings and has been in the insurance industry since that time.  His son, Aaron, joined him in 1998 and together they own the Beard Insurance Agency.

The family lived on a small farm just outside of Billings when Aaron was born, and he grew up there farming and ranching until he left for college.   He earned a degree in Agricultural Business from Montana State University in Bozeman prior to joining his father Ken in the insurance business in 1998.  In 2005, he completed his CIC designation and continues to maintain currency.

Growing up in agriculture taught us to work hard, talk straight, and treat everyone as if they are our neighbors. This means we listen to you, our client, so we understand what you have to lose when faced with risk.
